We are definately on the way home now but after looking on the Rome2Rio website it says that it's about a 9 hour drive, even on the Motorway.  Bordeaux is not that far out of the way so we decided to split the trip up into 2 legs and spend the night in France's biggest South-Western City.  Is Bordeaux is famous for it's wines but since I don't give two hoots about wine there is no point into going into that side of things.  The City is situated on one of Frances largest rivers, the Garonne while another is only 10km's away, the Dordogne and has been the launching place of many of France's early sea-going vessels.  My first view of the left bank of Bordeaux reminded my a lot of St Petersburg, the way the buildings are all built in long, straight lines along the bank, all the same height and square.  In amoungst it though it is nothing like the Russian City, you are definately in a French City.  We only had the afternoon to look at the City centre, we didn't venture into any Museums or take the Tourist bus or boat so we will need to come back to really see the place properly.  But first I need to start drinking Wine to truely appriciate the surrounding country side.
An early morning start and we were finally on the last leg home.  We arrives at Audrey's place at 14H00 to surprise her mother and father who weren't expecting us for another week or so.
Now it is time to rest and relax and hope for a couple of huge thunderstorms to come through that the south of France is known for.  Fingers crossed.
